      San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley)
      Senior Mechanical Engineer
      United States
      Company Name:
      GHK Technical Services
Other than spending time with my family, I'm deeply interested in mechanical design engineering. I love running SolidWorks: I have had my own license for 12 years. I enjoy designing stuff and building it. I just completed a trebuchet for my daughter's physics class project. I started working in this field when I was 13 years old: my father would take me to his company on Saturdays, where they designed and manufactured marine valves. He was also a mechanical engineer.
I am seeking a position where my diversified knowledge and experience as a self-directed professional can grow, and I can develop my skills as a mechanical engineer in a leadership role.

I am a degreed mechanical enginee rwith over twenty years of experience in the field of mechanical design engineering, including everything from conceptual design and CAD modeling to prototype fabrication and production tooling. My work experience has involved the design and manufacture of precision parts, assemblies and mechanisms that were produced by a variety of fabrication processes. The products I have designed range from miniature sensors to medical devices to benchtop instruments used in biomedical laboratories.

In many cases, I have worked as part of a multidisciplinary team that developed an original concept into a completed product in full production. My responsibilities have included conceptual design and 3D CAD modeling, material selection, stress and vibration analysis, design documentation, cost estimating and value engineering, ‘hands on’ development in the engineering laboratory and machine shop, as well as production tooling and ongoing support of the production lines. During my years as a mechanical engineer, I’ve developed an extensive knowledge of computer-aided design/drafting and analysis software. I have over 20,000 hours of experience using MCAD software such as SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD.

      Having fun with my family
