      Primrose, Germiston, South Africa
      Product Design and Development Engineer
      South Africa
      Company Name:
      Element Six - DRL
      Started in industry:
Mathematics - Linear Algebra, Vector Calculus, 3D Geometry,
      Mathematical Modeling and Simulation,
      Fluid Mechanics and Dynamics,
      Rigid Body Mechanics and Dynamics,
      Software Development,
Teaching/Lecturing - Maths, OO Software Design & Development, Mechanical Design,
Art, Creativity, Languages, Linguistics and Culture
Matriculated from Mafeking HS in Mafikeng, South Africa (former Bophuthatswana Homeland) in 1991. Graduated B.Ingeniare (Mech.) from NWU (former PU for CHE) in Potchefstroom, South Africa in 1995. Continued studying to obtain an M.Ingeniare (Mech. - Computational Mechanics) in 1998 and a Ph.D. Mech. Eng. (Computational Mechanics) in 2004.

Been involved in projects from various sectors of engineering industry throughout entire period of post-graduate studies and thereafter, amongst others CFD Software Development and Use (Flo++ and STAR-CD for ISKOR, ESKOM, Columbus Stainless, SASOL, Vaal Reefs Mines), Thermodynamics Software Development and Use (Flownex Nuclear for M-Tech Industrial & PBMR, 3Key Master for Simutron/PSS), Linear Static Structural FE Analysis Software Use (MSC.Patran/MSC.Nastran for BAE Systems LS OMC and ABAQUS for Element Six), Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) Software Advanced Development and Use (MSC.Adams/Car for BAE Systems LS OMC, Own Custom C++ OO-Code to Simulate Wiper Blade Actuation- and Suspension Linkages and Various other Mechanisms).

Been involved in various activities relating to training of students, something I am highly passionate about and had the fortunate opportunity to do as a C++ lecturer to 2nd year Mechanical Engineering students.

Like to get involved in as diverse and as many as possible application fields of Mechanical Engineering, particularly design related and mathematical optimisation. The key elements that get me really excited about any engineering project, or any project in general, are opportunities for combining and implementing as much as possible Maths, Science, Engineering, Software Development, Linguistic Knowledge/Skills and Innovation Related activities.

All my skills an knowledge I try to use in a cross-disciplinary and mutually constructive way, combined with my unique passion for anything to do with engineering.

Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Software Development, Languages, Linguistics and Culture
