I think it illustrates how in the UK there's a real distorted view of what engineering is. There are some non-technical people in the past I've attempted to explain what I do to, but they just don't "get" it. Amazing the amount of ignorance really. Are brighter headlights helpful? Or hurtful? Or a statement? This is a discussion topic only. I do not think we are going to overturn marketing decisions that sell cars. But I do think it warrants discussion and I'd like to hear what others think. Mechanical Design problem for "America" Problem: Low cost method of lowering approx 312 million people of various sizes and shapes, (use Measure of Man, Henry Dreyfus) for averages, safely down a fiscal cliff.... Fiscal cliff, no numbers yet, so be conservative.... Do you listen to music while you work? Usually I find it absolutely impossible to concentate on music and performing another activity simultaneously (I mean if I tried to walk down the street listening to an MP3 player I would just bump into things). Therefore I am usually unable to listen to ANY music and work....
