      This opening is with Alcoa Howmet, a division of Alcoa Power and Propulsion - a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets and a leading supplier of forgings for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, and other industrial markets. This position will work with in our Manufacturing Technology Group located in Whitehall, MI and will report to the Supervisor of Mechanical Design. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and detailing of complex special casting-related and automation equipment to specific customer requirements.

      Addition Responsibilities:
      • Provide engineering and material support for shop floor projects.
      • Significant supplier, customer, and management
      • Provide knowledge of the manufacturing process and the ability to handle all technical issues.
      • Coordinate support of various projects including quoting, project initiation, budgets and timelines.
      • Record keeping, data entry, maintaining/updating charts, presentation preparation, organizing meetings, initiating purchase requisitions, travel arrangements, etc.

      Basic Qualifications:
      • MS/ME Mechanical Engineer.
      • 0-5+ years experience in industrial machine design/engineering.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • 3+ years experience in industrial machine design/engineering preferred.
      • Strong communication skills, good PC skills, program management skills.
      • Experience with Auto Cad.
      • Proficient use of Solid Works Drafting package.
      • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently, and interact with employees during equipment build phase.
