A Chinese supplier of outdoor equipment has proposed a solution where stainless steel and aluminium parts are in contact. I was concerned about galvanic corrosion, butthey have stated that they will plate the stainless steel part with a "zinc-aluminium" coating. They have shown me results of a 1000hr salt spray test which passed. That's good enough for me, but I'd like to know more about this "zinc-aluminium" coating, but their plater cannot provide a datasheet. Does anyone know of this kind of treatment? Can anyone provide any insight because I've never come across this before? Thanks!
