Just read George Orwell's "1984" and Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" back to back A real paranoia-fest. Great stuff? Anyone else read/reading anything good???
Best book ever read? - Empyion by Stephen Lawhead - A bit geeky, but very imaginative. Also showing its age a little, but adds to its charm (written in 1986, but set in the future where you need to go to a special public booth to send a "text message"...) Currently reading the 'Sharpe' series of books - Also brilliant
I'm currently reading "Anyone can do it" by Duncan Bannatyne off Dragon's Den. It's ok, but I get the impression that Dunky B would still be flogging Mr Whippies if it wasn't for the government handouts for his old people's homes.
I'm currently reading "The China Price" by Alexandra Harney. A good read! Lots of what I've been working on over the last few years has been influenced by this very thing, so it's a very relevant read for me. I wouldn't say I'm at all surprised or shocked by anything I've read in it, however...
I am reading the book "the 7 habits for successful youth". I think this is a good book. It helps you to have good habits to be successful in future, just starting right from now I am following the guidelines in this book, just a little difficult for me cuz I do not get used to doing such habits : But I will try !
Now there's some light summer reading! A good read for engineers (which I first read when I was a kid, in an old edition that my father was given as a kid) is Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island." Verne idolized engineers, even when they were the villains as in some of his other works (e.g. Robur). -Dana
If we're talking shop - I'd recomend The Art of Star Wars Great for flicking through the sketch renderings by Doug Chang And The book that has provided so much inspiration in the past!
