Any good apps out there for engineers and designers? I downloaded 'Design Data Engineering Materials' for my iPod touch - a useful app if lacking in UI polish. I also have Autodesk's Sketchbook - great fun. Any other recommendations?
The Sketchbook App is pretty good, especially on an Ipad. Autodesk are due to bring out AutoCAD as an app in the near future, so that could be quite useful for home projects etc.
http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/ GNU Octave, basically a free MatLab. Just not as pretty. Useful if you don't have access to or the money to purchase MatLab or Maple.
Autodesk have so far got 4 apps available on the app store: SketchBook Mobile/Pro AutoCAD WS (free) Inventor Publisher Mobile (free) Fluid FX There's also a new app on it's way out called Autodesk Tinkerbox which is an engineering challenge type game to get the smartphone generation into engineering. There's some more details and a video of tinkerbox on my blog: Http://autodeskmfg.blogspot.com Cheers Steve
