      Would you like to develop, review and continuously improve manufacturing processes and facilities to meet project and production requirements? We currently have multiple vacancies available for Manufacturing Engineers on a fixed term basis for 2 years at our site in Glascoed.

      As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be leading the design of efficient manufacturing systems, taking into consideration factors such as process safety, occupational safety, logistics, process flow, inventories and lead times. You will be responsible for providing support to all aspects of Manufacturing Operations.

      This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge within a highly regulated sector. You will be able to assess the development of products and see new products into service.

      Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Engineer will involve:

      Planning, designing and implementing integrated manufacturing processes in the manufacturing facility

      Refining the manufacturing processes to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification and business priorities

      Working with the Engineering function to identify problems with product and performance; recommending solutions and process improvements

      Planning and designing methods to improve efficiency in production; training line employees on existing and new processes and methods

      Working to improve equipment availability and capability by utilising continuous improvement tools and cross functional working

      Developing and maintaining manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work, including PFMEA, Process Control Plans and Risk Assessments

      Design, specify plant and equipment, support capital acquisition, capacity planning, engineering proposals and estimated costs to achieve operational improvements and financial benefits, management of contractors and implementing engineering change control.

      Your skills and qualifications:

      Mechanical / Electrical / Control Engineering background, to a minimum of degree / HNC or equivalent

      Experience in a similar role, ideally gained in a complex manufacturing environment (ideally processing, electronic, automotive, aerospace)

      Solid understanding of the fundamentals of manufacturing processes

      Some familiarity with plant, tool and gauge design

      Experience of carrying out process improvement projects in a manufacturing facility, as well as having a focus on Product Quality and Product Safety

      Familiarity with the Six Sigma toolbox, with the ability to apply appropriate statistical methods and integrate this knowledge into the design of manufacturing systems

      Experience of training personnel in policies and procedures, with respect to manufacturing and process safety

      Ability to aid compliance with statutory legislation including ATEX, DSEAR and COMAH would be desirable

      A Health and Safety qualification in IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH national certificate would be beneficial

      What we're looking for in you:

      You will be self-motivated and capable of working as part of a multi discipline, managing your own workload on a day to day basis. You will have solid time management and problem solving skills, as well as highly proficient communications skills, both written and verbal.
