      Would you like to be at the forefront of new developments? We currently have a vacancy for a CAD Application Support Manager at our site in Barrow.

      This role will give you the opportunity to be the CAD Application Support Manager for the PLM Competency Centre. In this role, you will be expected to lead the CAD Support Team from a people and technical perspective and achieve the aims of the Competency Centre support tower.

      This role will provide you with the ability to make a tangible difference to technical performance of systems, enhance the capability of the business to deliver challenging design requirements.


      Your main responsibilities as a CAD Application Support Manager will involve:

      Liaising with senior management teams within the functions to ensure that full leverage is made of IM&T services in particular 3D CAD services.

      Ensure that relationships with stakeholder are developed and enhanced (e.g. customers and vendors)

      Responsible for overseeing the end to end delivery of business requirement and the post-delivery validation of value add

      Responsible for the management of support, incidents and licences in line with the Service Level Agreements

      Establishing measures to help the business understand the quality of data and proactively work with the business to ensure improvement activities are put in place and maintained

      Leading the business community in clearly defining their requirements, working with the rest of the IM&T teams to ensure that the requirements are met by system or process changes

      Leading the development of business cases relating to IM&T investment

      Seeking out opportunities for business improvement not just in terms of systems but systems related processes in general

      Providing "thought leadership" in terms of what technology might be applied to overcome business problems

      Facilitating the constructive resolution of cross functional data flow issues

      Providing a robust prioritisation of workload for the IM&T team, ensuring best use of resource to meet business priorities

      Developing and managing the CAD element of the PLM Competency Centre

      Owning and managing a team development plan, ensure team skills are appropriate for the role and provide hands on support, training and guidance for junior members of the team


      Your skills and qualifications as a CAD Application Support Manager will include:


      Educated to degree/HNC level preferably in Computing, Engineering or Science discipline

      Recognised skills or academic / professional qualifications

      Demonstrable knowledge of the 3D CAD process from design through to manufacture and support

      Demonstrable knowledge of 3D CAD Applications including configuration and deployment (FORAN preferred other mainstream Engineering CAD packages considered e.g. CATIA, NX)

      Demonstrable experience of managing systems development activities, system issue resolution

      Strong and demonstrable understanding of testing applications
