      hi gents,

      Im hoping to get a motor but cant opt between baldor and leeson so Id figure I could possibly

      try to ask here:

      Single HP
      1725 or 1800 RPM
      Three Phase
      TEFC preferred
      56C frame size

      Is just one of the other manufacturers preferred when it comes to a smaller motor? I'll be shipping this to my shop back home, when I get back so Id probably order online.

      In this day and age with basic industrial components, they're all pretty much the same; absent special features you tend to order from a distributor who you like working with.

      Well, we use the 3 phase baldor motors. So if you decide between these two brands, choose the baldor.

      as for the specifications...I would advice to take TEFC totally enclosed motor.
