  • Belt drives verses chain drives??

      I have been told that bicycle chains are 98 percent efficient. But does that include going around a sprocket? what kind of chains is that number from (old rusty chain?), And I suspect that the more the torque is the more the percentage of loss there is??

      And the same question apples for belts, like what kind of belt is the best? V belts are the worst of course.
