Which is the best automobile? Same kind of useless question. If anyone else answers, they will say the package they use is the best. Do your own survey of companies you would like to work for. Learn what they use. Learn that package.

      Hi Guys,

Engineers are the one who creates new stuff as per their imagination or ideology. In case to build a new design, it is always recommended to have a blueprint, structure, virtual layout, architecture, etc. Thus, to make such primary designs and check out their practical use, they need or use specially designed applications, software, and tools. Below are some useful tools which can help to start -
      1) Autodesk
      2) MATLAB
      3) CATIA
      4) ZW3D
      5) MechDesigner and much more.

      Thanks & regards

3D packages are the more commonly used for design engineering/draughting. I imagine different industries may favour different packages. The most common I've come across are Inventor and Solidworks based on companies I've worked for or job descriptions often require either of these. Solidedge and Creo less so.

Hello to all! I also decided to contribute to this topic )

There isт't ideal program, different software is used in different industries and in different companies.
I use SolidWorks, AutoCAD and COMPAS3D
In 2D now no one draws all use programs for 3D modeling
Even if I want to make a simple sketch, I’ll be first to do the 3d model and then the 2d sketch it is a habit))

The most common software is SolidWorks, NX, Inventor, CATIA. Some engineers use ActCAD, i rarely use AutoCAD, it uncomfortable 3d modeling but this is one of the oldest engineering programs.

There is also an interesting program Fusion 360, worthy of your attention.
In addition, it is important to know what will you design. For designing wooden structures it is more convenient to use completely other programs. For the design of buildings and structures also has its own software.

The question is very relative and there is no one right answer to it Each engineer selects a program based on a variety of factors, mainly related to the requirements of customers or the employer. All these programs have a lot in common, and at any time you can quickly change the program to another, if necessary.
