      Mechanical Designer - Camera Team
      Location: Lysaker, Norway

We are actively seeking candidates for the Mechanical Designer role as part of our Camera team.

      Based at Lysaker, Norway, the Camera Team has become a specialist R&D centre for the design and implementation of video conferencing camera solutions. This team designs and develops a wide range of video cameras for use in close integration with CISCO video conferencing infrastructure to provide the users with unsurpassed video conferencing features. The camera team is a highly cross-disciplinary team handling all aspects of the development of these complex products. You will join the mechanical and industrial design group of the camera team.

      As a Mechanical Designer you will be working in close collaboration with other members of the camera team to ensure the feasibility of the different approaches. The Lysaker mechanical design community counts more than 15 people using the very latest tools and methodologies. The size of the mechanical design community assures an environment in continuous development with a strong focus on keeping up with the latest tools, trends and developments.

      Primary Responsibilities of a Graduate Mechanical Designer include:
      • Product concept development
      • User analysis
      • Overall product construction
      • Design of moving mechanics (motors gears etc)
      • Construction of plastic and metal parts
      • Interaction with suppliers
      • DFMX processes
      • Follow up CMs
      • Design for assembly and mass production
      • Collaboration with mechanical designers in other parts of the organization.
      • Collaboration with industrial designers and development engineers

      Professional Competencies Required:
      • Strong written & verbal communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and problem solving skills.
      • Ability to self-motivate with a strong desire to learn and ability to be flexible.

      The successful candidate will have some or all of the following skills:
      • 3D modeling (Solid Works).
      • Knowledge of tools for flow analysis heat analysis etc
      • Good collaboration skills
      • Ability to lead and drive mechanical design processes
      • Ability to conduct workshops and lead groups
      • Experience from working with electronics and moving mechanics

      Education Requirements:
      M.Sc./M.Eng./Ph.D. from a top ranked University with good results in the area of mechanical design

      Eligibility Requirements:
      • Ability to live and work in Norway with no additional sponsorship from Cisco.
      • Must be fluent in English.
