      I have an immediate need for a Composite Engineer with a manufacturing focus to lead a variety of aerospace research projects. This position requires a self-motivated individual with a hands-on approach. This is a contract to direct position for a major DOD contractor in Virginia.

      Responsibilities

      • Leads the design & development efforts for prototype composite programs
      • Develops manufacturing processes
      • Coordinates programs through manufacturing launch
      • Prepares and provides data for bid and proposal efforts
      Qualifications

      Preferred Education / Experience for Composites Engineer:

      • Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Aerospace or Material Science Engineering;
      • 3+ years of experience with research and development composites programs, or;
      • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

      Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

      • Knowledge of current composite materials and processing
      • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment
      • Proficient with CAD software; NX preferred
      • Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret security clearance
      • Able to work in an individual and team environment
      • Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret security clearance

      There are benefits available at a good cost, but your expense as a contractor. There is a 401k option and depending on where you reside we may be able to set up a per diem split for your hourly rate.
