Spearhead new product design and development for this high-profile market leader.

Redring Xpelair Group is a leader in the design and production of cutting-edge solutions for ventilation and water management. Operating in the industrial, commercial and domestic sectors, we’re renowned for our quality and innovation, from conception, through design and manufacture to our sales process and after-sales service.

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, as Design Engineer you’ll play a crucial role in spearheading new product design and development, in addition to the continuous improvement of existing products. Using Creo software, predominantly for the design of plastic water heating products, you’ll apply your in-depth grasp of engineering / electrical principles to ensure we meet our business objectives, which will involve close liaison with both internal and external business partners in project implementation and execution. Data collation and analysis will be a key feature of the role to determine how to improve product performance and reliability, whist reducing material and labour costs. Other key deliverables of the Project Design Engineer include:

      • managing work packages through the DCI, NPI process
      • the identification and removal of non-valued added processes
      • root cause analysis and solutions.

With a formal Engineering qualification, underpinned by a strong skill-set, as Design Engineer you’ll need a proven track record in plastic component design, in addition to proficiency in the use of the Pro Engineer Creo package. Your comprehensive grasp of mechanical, electrical areas, plastics, metal, tooling and the manufacturing process will complement your understanding of the total business impact of engineering decisions and actions. Highly organised, with the ability to control work packages through effective use of suppliers, in addition to internal and external facilities, you’re also:

      • data-driven
      • able to multi-task and capable of working on multi-projects simultaneously
      • a true self-starter with excellent all-round communication skills.

It’s a superb opportunity within a flexible and dynamic organisation that’s passionate about maximising its potential from investment in products, processes and people.
