Hye, I'm new here, I need help from forum members. I have problem on how to design rotational moulding arm. I don't know how to calculate the motor torque needed to rotate the arm. anybody can help me? thank you for your cooperation.
You will have to determine the total load 'F' that the arm has to transmit. Determine the normal distance 'r' between the axis of rotation and the point of application of load. The torque required will be 'F x r'. Depending on the RPM of the arm, select the motor with the required gearbox to match.
