      Hi,

I'm designing a portable product and would like to use a 'drill-like' lithium ion battery as the source of power for a 12V or maybe 14.4V DC motor (yet to be chosen). Does anyone have any idea where I can find this kind of battery other than from power tool companies? I haven't yet looked into the wiring of the battery to the motor but if anyone has done this before kind of assembly before and could direct me into the right direction it would be very appreciated.

      Thank you,

      Fred

You can buy indiviual li-ion cells or preassembled packs from many suppliers. If you're looking for the battery pack preassembled into the consumer friendly plastic "snap in" interchangeable housing like you'd have in a drill, you might have to buy it as a replacement part from a tool manufacturer if you're trying to avoid the cost of making your own custom molded case.
