Establishes design criteria and participates in design reviews. Provides analytical and design support to Manufacturing, Suppliers and Quality Assurance. Provides direction and supervision to Product Engineering (US & China). Position Specifications and Functional Scope Â· Responsible for the Design, Engineering and Suppliers support of all connectors, special Busbars, its components, and related product lines. Â· Supervise Product Engineering and Engineering support employees. Â· Working and design knowledge of stamping, forming, laminating and plating is an asset. Â· Familiarities with interconnect systems such as connectors and molded cable assembly designs for datacom, telecom and power Busbar systems. Â· Ability to integrate product design function with rest of manufacturing operation, including quality and test. Â· Must have experience working with suppliers and communicate design concerns and parameters. Education & Soft Skill Requirements Â· B. S. Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience), plus 7-10 years of experience in a high-tech, telecommunications or electronic component manufacturer. Â· Minimum of two years of supervisory experience. Â· Must be proficient in SolidWorks, CAD Software, analytical/modeling software and ERP. Â· Must have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing per ANSI standards. Â· Must be familiar with CSA and UL requirements. Â· Must be self-initiated and possess an entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to conceive products and the desire to see them successfully manufactured and sold. Â· Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy, under pressure and with frequent interruptions. Organizational Relationships Â· Report to the General Manager. Â· Frequent contact with operations, quality, purchasing and marketing personnel. Â· Frequent contact with customers and vendors. Â· Frequent travel required.
