      Hello all,

      I am currently working with food machinery design and I am short on information about hygienic machinery deesign :(
      If someone knows, any references or literature about this subject, please let me know :)

      There are specs, but I don't remember them off hand so I'm afraid I can't refer you to those.

      In general, if it touches food, it has to be washed down. That means any materials that don't corrode, like stainless steel or hard anodized aluminum. You will also need sealed bearings and motors so food droppings and dirty water can't collect. You even need to think about the small things, like capillary action of dirty water into your threads. Consider acorn nuts with an o-ring seal.
