We are using Solidworks at work and have been using Draftsight for making dxf's. At the end of the year Drafsight will no longer be free, and the boss doesn't really want to pay for a subscription if he can help it. Here's what he is looking for -Free -open source is great -something that has a community with it -we really only need 2-D, but if it does have 3-D is there an option to opt out of it.
