So what does everyone think of Project Glass, Google's augmented reality thingy?

I'm sure that people will be queueing around the block for this type of technology, but it's not my cup of tea. It's all nice and everything, but I prefer not to be in a personal world of electronic noise and distraction everywhere I go ;)

This parody video is pretty funny:

I'm not so sure about it either. My guess is that its sucess or failure will largely depend on looks (do I look like a dork wearing it), ease of user interface, and cost. I'm most concerned about the safety of using the device, as the parady video shows. What about when people are driving? It's a hands-free device, but I have no doubts it will be a distraction and cause serious damage. I think the most interesting aspect is what other uses it may have besides social networking. I can see it having uses in buisness and industry, like an advanced user-interface of some kind. Or how about for the hearing or visually impared?
