I'm apply for Grad school. Right now I'm doing a mechanical engineering work and I want to specialized in mechanical design. Is it too broad? I need to write a intent of study for the application which should include the understand of the intented aera or my ideas. This is the part I'm having difficulty with. Anyone could give some advice?

 

"Mechanical design" is indeed a broad subject. Where do your interests lie? Machinery? Structural design? Mechanism design? Vehicle design? Product design? HVAC design? Electronics packaging? Each of these is a specialized area, as well as a career path.

 

Thanks for your point. I'm doing and I'd like to do product structure design. But I don't know how to write a insightful paragraph that would impress grad commitee.
