Hi! I'm new to the mechanical design forum. I learned about this forum through LinkedIn, and I expect it is a great resource for engineers who are fascinated with recent developments in design, rapid prototyping, fabrication technology, and problem-solving techniques. I'm obsessed with mechanical engineering, and I wish I could learn everything possible! I am currently doing product development and testing at a small product development start-up, so I'm (thankfully) afflicted by a huge variation in project types when compared to a large corporation. I've worked in the solar industry for a total of about 3.5 years (dual-axis CPV for 1.5 years, commercial and residential rooftop systems for 2 years) and I'm looking to branch out to serve more industries and learn more about emerging fabrication and automation technologies. I've recently built a RepRap 3D printer and I'm having fun with that. I'm also a registered PE (Mechanical) in California. I look forward to future discussions with members of this forum. Maybe I can help with some people's problems, or get some help back from other users. Thanks for reading. = ) -Mike "rniIce"
