Hello and greetings from Devon, UK :)

I found this forum whilst searching for a solution to a problem.

I believe the search term I used in Google was "mechanical design".

I will explain the problem briefly and if it is allowed to be discussed by the Administrator I will elaborate in the appropriate section of the forum.

      First a little background.

I'm a qualified mechanic and autoelectrician who has worked for Peugeot, Ford, Renault, Jaguar, BMW and the AA.

My interest in CAD began when I studied manufacturing at school.

I would class myself as an AutoCAD & Solidworks novice.

      Regarding the problem.

We appear to have discovered a simple technology that does not violate any Newtonian laws of physics.

The team I represent seek an eco-focussed designer with extensive Autodesk Inventor dynamic design experience.

I mention Inventor because it is free to download for personal use so everyone on the planet could get to play around with the model once it's complete.

      The project is open source.

We have many pictures and videos of the device in action and a number of replications are already in progress.

This project was started by the inventor in 2009 and he has manufactured 11 different prototypes to get to this stage.

I am directly liasing with the inventor.

I hope you all find this message interesting and I look forward to sharing more with you if this is allowed.

      Best regards,

      Paul

      Interesting photos ...

... so what the heck is the intended function? I'm really a SolidWorks guy, but I do use Inventor (when I must).

      Mark,

Can't you recognize a free energy device when you see one?

Pay NO attention to the big blue 5 hp electric motor.............

Hi GarethW, Mark & Erich :D

      Thank you for your interest.

I realise that there are probably many veterans on this forum but also a number of rookies so I will try to cater my descriptions for all if possible.

The device shown in the pictures is a "torque amplifier" and it is connected to a 3 phase 3kw motor / generator.

The video shown in the previous link was the device running after being turned by hand. The motor is not receiving any power and the centrifugal force is providing the inertia to sustain running. Please note that the deflecting bike wheel that would help provide additional torque is not fitted.

This test resulted in the chain from the top large sprocket to the motor snapping and the inventor having to slow the wheel to a stand still using a broom.

I would like to point out that there is no such thing as "perpetual motion" as the bearings will not last forever ;)

I suppose an exception to the rule is the earth spinning at 1000 miles an hour. Maybe the solar winds spinning the earth will run out, or, the earth will expire some day too.

Apparently the term "free energy" originated from the oil giants as a way to describe technologies which undermined the technologies they market to make vast profits from fossil fuels. The term has been basterdized as there is no such thing as "free energy", only what is already there. ;)

When a motor is powered by AC mains electricity or DC from a battery it produces rotation and torque on the output shaft.

However, when certain motors are driven by the output shaft, the output shaft becomes the input shaft and the motor becomes a generator. The most basic example of a 3 phase generator would be a vehicle alternator or the type that would connect to a wind turbine.

The device shown in the pictures takes advantage of centrifugal force and gravity to reduce the amount of electricity consumed to power a load.

Infact the device shown will power 30 x 95 watt (2850 watts) incandescent bulbs using only 1350 watts.

You may be surpised to hear that it was not designed using CAD or simulation software and instead by carrying out many experiments and evaluating the results.

I believe the device could very easily be optimised using CAD simulation / FEA analysis.

Inventor may not be the best software option. I am open to ideas.

The inventor claims that the device shown will produce enough torque to power 10kw using a different generator and the same input.

I actually believe he is underestimating this figure.

Constantly self powering a high wattage load then becomes an option.

Here is a video of the device running with the deflecting bike wheel in action:

Here is a video of the device powering the 30 x 95 watt incandescent bulbs I mentioned above:

      Here is the wiring diagram:

Here is what one of our team said:

      "Hi All,

At the 12 o'clock there is the change of direction, before 12 the weight is moving upwards, after 12 the weight is moving downwards but the far end of the weight still has momentum and so pivots to the right and upwards. The amount it moves depends on the RPM of the main wheel and the same happens in a sling shot "point of release would be the 12 o'clock point". This is the effect that you see.

I have worked out that instead of using a wheel to push out the weight at around 1.5, a "free running" wheel could be used at around 7 o'clock to push the weight inwards to 90 degrees with the main wheel, the one way bearing would hold it there, also less drive loss because it would not be driven, the weight would run over the wheel "still a loss but less than a driven wheel". RPM can now be increased to gain NEAR full extention of the weight before 3 o'clock."

Rather than attempt to patent and make profit from the device we believe it should be shared amongst the good people of the world.

The energy giants have retained too much power / wealth for far too long.

A number of replications are in progress to validate the technology.

As the device does not break any physics laws we believe simulation software can also validate the technology too.

I hope you all find this information very interesting.

Thank you for your time

      Best regards,

      Paul :)

I was confused, but the wiring diagram cleared it right up. this "Constantly self powering a high wattage load then becomes an option." is th every definition of "free energy", or "over unity". If it works it violates the laws of physics as they are currently understood.
If you can prove it you will be very wealthy, I am not holding my breath. You seem sincere; here is how these things usually go - step one - a cool idea for a machine, the explanation of which in someway confuses one or several of force, energy, power, work, or momentum
step 2 - a demo / proto machine is built.
Step3 - the proto ALMOST works and can me made to do so with just a little refinement
      goto step one and repeat.
gravity wheels, some of them quite sophisticated, have been tried for over 500 years and none of them work. Give it a try as a hobby if you want, but don't bet the farm on it. you could end up with some nice science museum exhibits of why these things don't work.

I saw the videos with the large, clattering wheel spinning as advertised. The wobbly shots of little numbers on displays don't really tell me anything. I would suggest that you take actual data and present a very simple report that shows the operating conditions, and simple measurement of Volts and Amps IN, Volts and Amps OUT. Make it very simple, and very clear. Otherwise it sort of looks like all the other cool, but useless free-energy inventions.
      Good Luck.

Some good advice there about input / output measurements, thanks for your opinions guys.

I agree the video quality is not brilliant and the wattage meter is difficult to make out.

There is no exact proof that those are 95 watts bulbs and there could be hidden wires too.

I believe a number of CAD simulators may be able to prove the perpetual motion part using one way bearings, a wheel mounted on frame with a shaft and bearings. 32 weights and 32 one way bearings is a necessity.

I don't believe a simulator will be able to handle the electromagnetics parts. Although a professional using Solidworks and http://www.electromagneticworks.com/ may prove my theory incorrect.

Johann Bessler is an example of a technology that has existed in the last 500 years. Unfortunately Bessler took his secret to the grave, age 65, fell to his death while working on the Fürstenburg windmill.

I will wait until the 1st replication is complete and post the independent replicators findings.

This should be in the next few weeks.

From the videos I have seen already the technology is looking very genuine and viable to me. ;)

If water can constantly turn a water wheel until something breaks, why can't gravity turn a wheel in this fashion until something breaks?

A water wheel has a COP of infinity. Isn't that overunity?

The water wheel is solar powered. Study a bit of natural science, and see if you can work that out.

Nothing has a COP of infinity. Energy must come from somewhere, and your clever wheel is not going to create energy. All this has been tried for many centuries, and the simple answer is that it doesn't make energy. I'll look at your link, but I don't imagine it is something real. There is no "secret science".

I'll be happy to look at the data, when it is available.

      Good Luck
