      Yes, robots generally increase employment if you're just looking at the numbers... but they shift it from the unskilled workers that the robot replaced to the skilled workers needed to run the robots. Some of those unskilled workers can be retrained, but others cannot. I don't know what the answer is.

      However, not going to robots often would leave the company noncompetitive... and when the company goes out of business because they can't compete with the company that did install robots, everybody loses their jobs.
