I have this pneumatic cylinder that I wish to connect to a wooden door in order to make it kinda like a Star wars door. I'm wondering what the best way to connect the cylinder to the door would be.

The cylinder has a threaded rod at the end. Looks like the one attached. I was wondering if there are components like a bracket that can be screwed onto the door and has a threaded loop to which the Rod could be screwed to?

      Hi

Most manufacturers supply mounting accessories as you describe.

If the cylinder is to an international standard, any manufacturers accessories will fit.

Yes it is intl standard ISO 6431. But what are those accessories called in order to look for them?

I'm not 100% sure I understand what you want, but I think you're looking for a rod end - probably a ball joint or clevis - to attach to the rod, and a knuckle joint, pivot base, L-bracket, or some other kind of mounting bracket that takes a pin connection on the other.

Thanks so much. So i looked Up clevis and it looks perfect for the threaded rod end.

As for connecting the clevis to the door, I got these pictures. The knuckle joint I can sort of see, but I would need to connect it to the door somehow and im not sure how.

The pivot base is a bit clearer but I'm wondering about the looseness of the connection.

The l bracket I'm not sure how to connect it to the clevis.
