I'm a new member of this forum. Is it permit to show product here?

I really want to show off my gear machining parts. Its material is Aluminum 6061. Very precision and small. Well ,most of factory do not want to produce it, but our engineer like it very much. So we are successfull.

What's the reason for not having an involute gear profile?

To some extent, this is not proper to be a mechanical gear wheel . It has no mating gear, so doesn't need to cooperate with other gears. Our client told me that it is used for cutting a kind of soft material, so we can call it as a cutter. Please check the following picture, you will know its working condition.

Welcome. We don't allow self-promotion here, but because you're posting something interesting that doesn't have external links to your website or sales pitch, this discussion doesn't really fall into that category!

Looking at the original image it appears to be a tool for dismembering cuddly toys

Sara - how do you achieve the geometry during your machining process? These parts look like they're very difficult to machine.
