      Job Summary:

      Sumiden Wire Products Corporation is growing our stainless steel bar, shaped products and nickel plating operation. Sumiden Wire is firmly established as a premier supplier of stainless steel wire and wire products in North America. This position will support the stainless steel wire manufacturing operations by providing product quality control and product/process optimization. This position will also provide production process support to ensure production goals and objectives (including daily tasks) are planned, coordinated and implemented in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.


      This position will have advancement opportunities in either an engineering management role or production management role. The ideal candidate will be interested in putting their engineering training to work as well as be open to developing skills in other related areas. This position will be an integral part of the growth and success of bar and shaped wire products. This position can expect routine contact and communication with personnel at all levels of management within the organization. By joining our team during this growth and development stage, a wealth of opportunities will be provided for becoming a product expert in the production and use of bar, shaped and nickel plated wire products. The person hired will be able to work closely with local and international experts in all levels of the production process and supply chain.


      Compensation & Benefits:

      FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time

      Essential Job Functions:


      This position requires the successful candidate be able to perform the following activities:

      · Provide engineering support to manufacturing and maintenance. This includes monitoring and evaluating product quality, analyzing and resolving manufacturing problems, and providing immediate and effective process troubleshooting.

      · Work closely with raw material suppliers to improve performance and maintain effective product feedback.

      · Work with outside sales representatives and customers to improve product quality and specifications for optimum performance.

      · Initiate and implement cost, efficiency and quality improvements in the production process.

      · Monitor manufacturing data to evaluate product quality and production efficiency to support production goals. This includes effective process control counteraction initiatives.

      · Initiate design improvement recommendations involving process and equipment optimization. This includes cost-reductions and budgetary control of current and future processes.

      · Maintain all aspects of quality, including standards, process standards, customer quality, internal quality, vendor quality documentation and prepare reports as necessary.

      · Communicate with production personnel on the status of ongoing projects and issues. Participate in operations planning and scheduling meetings as required by the organization’s management group.


      Educational/Vocational Preparation:

      · College courses: Bachelor’s degree or higher, mechanical engineering degree preferred

      · High school diploma or GED: Required

      · Performance on other jobs: 0-5 years’ work experience preferred, experience in the metals or construction industry is a plus
