      Hi all,

I have very limited machining experience, and that's why I would like to see what you have to say about this. The attached sketch shows an aluminum part that I am not sure if it is or not machinable. If it is machinable, how difficult is it to make such part? Your comments and help greatly appreciated!

      Thank you,

Yes it is machineable. The key to how machineable is the tolerances you need to hold on the various features.

      Erich,

The critical dimensions are the 0.70" and the smallest ID (I just realized that I missed that dimension). The tolerance on those two dimensions will be +0.004/-0.000.

      Thank you for your input.

      Hi Steven,

The link to the picture did not work. Can you please re-post the link? Thank you for taking your time.

I was able to view the sketch. I had the same question. It seems weird that we can't just upload from local disk, but have to host the image somewhere and then provide a link. Well, I guess I see why they are doing this - to save space on server??? That's just guessing, there might be more realistic reason. Anyways, thank you!
