Our client, a leading boat builder based in the Elkhart, Indiana area, is currently seeking two (2) Design Engineers: One to support FIBERGLASS & the second to support the WELDED ALUMINUM brand. These individuals will be responsible for improving upon the performance & design of existing products, overseeing production of final product, as well as researching & developing ideas / processes for new products.
Accountabilities:
· Design, model, & test prototypes; Perform floatation tests on applicable models & new model certification for Europe – CE
· Assure that products adhere to standards set forth by NMMA – USCG, along with American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC).
· Conduct new product development meetings: Provide technical assistance to internal departments during product launch, as well as work with suppliers to develop & improve product
· Participate in development of sales materials, standards & options chart, & BOMs; Assists in training production personnel
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience & background developing boats / related products.
· Experience in either fiberglass &/or welded & riveted aluminum boats helpful
· Good working knowledge of design & mechanical capabilities of common boat building materials.
· NMMA Compliance Specialist helpful.
· Skilled with computer tools (MSOffice suite); Proficient in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, CATIA, UG, etc.)
· Able to lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders as necessary to access boat interiors, & have ability/willingness to wear OSHA PPE as required

Our client is offering compensation in the 65-70K+ range, & relocation assistance is offered.
