I want to make a crimp to attach wires together. I have tried brass (annealed) and wanted to get a suggestion for an aluminum that is formable and machineable. I'm considering 5052 is there a better option? It's also possible that this item this could be produced at higher volumes where the part is made with a different process e.g.casting or? and that may require a different alloy. I would be interested to hear about an appropriate alloy for that. Bottom line is that aluminum alloy crimps are avaialable (not in a shape I can use) does anyone know what alloy is used?
