Working in our engineering department enables you to immediately support design and development on multiple product lines. This position requires close interaction with multiple internal departments as well as key customers. The ability to work cross culturally and cross functionally is necessary. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop RF coaxial connectors to meet industry standards and customer requirements. Utilize 3D CAD (Pro/Engineer) model and draft connector components and assemblies. Perform tolerance studies. Apply RF design concepts to design high performance transmission lines. Work with the RF Engineer to validate and optimize RF performance. Analyze or facilitate the analysis of mechanical requirements using FEA as required. Process Engineering Change Orders and New Product Releases. Perform and document electrical and mechanical testing of prototypes. Maintain organized project files. Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments as part of a cross-functional team to move the product design through a phased development process. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus at least one Internship and/or Co-Op in a related industry. Experience in the use of 3-D Solid Modeling CAD tools, preferably Pro/Engineer. Some knowledge of Simulation Software such as Ansys or Mechanica would be a plus. Knowledge of the Manufacturing processes associated with the production of machined (turned), stamped and formed, injection molded and die cast component parts associated with high volume connector product is desired.
