      Hi Everyone,

I run a mechanical design firm in South Africa called D3 Engineering Solutions. The firm has been running for 14 months now and is doing great. The recession is actually helping us grow the business as many companies are outsourcing for piece jobs instead of hiring engineers. We have evolved over the last year to consulting work but our core business still lies in the mechanical design industry. Twenty-eight clients and counting, eight of those consistently come back to us each month and we've signed five retainer agreement for 24 months each. When I say us, I started as a home business but am sub-contracting to civil, architectual, electrical and other mechanical engineers, soon hoping to open a small office and employ full-time while keeping it small. Have a look at our website http://www.d3s.co.za, it should provide a little more info. Will post in the near future regarding current mechanical design projects.

      Regards,

      W. Mann

      Hello All.
Nice to have another outlet to be visible. I too own and operate a small consulting firm. I currently outsource both mechanical and electrical engineering to degreed engineers, aeronautical and electrical. I opened the business in 2001 and lately I've been kept rather busy. TDI mainly deals with folks that have Ideas and would like to get a prototype made and information on how to bring their product into production. We have helped folks develop products, get patents, start business's selling their new products. We have manufacturing contacts across the USA and in Shanghai China. We have a model shop with a 5axis CNC, among other metal working machinery. We work directly or thru 3rd parties, such as http://www.guru.com, http://www.elance.com, http://www.odesk.com and http://www.getafreelancer.com. When you get a chance stop by our website and sign in. http://www.traserdesign.com or check out our profiles on one of the sites listed above. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you a little bit about TDI.

      Thank you for your time,
