Hi Everyone, I run a mechanical design firm in South Africa called D3 Engineering Solutions. The firm has been running for 14 months now and is doing great. The recession is actually helping us grow the business as many companies are outsourcing for piece jobs instead of hiring engineers. We have evolved over the last year to consulting work but our core business still lies in the mechanical design industry. Twenty-eight clients and counting, eight of those consistently come back to us each month and we've signed five retainer agreement for 24 months each. When I say us, I started as a home business but am sub-contracting to civil,architectual,electrical and other mechanical engineers, soon hoping to open a small office and employ full-time while keeping it small.
