Position: Mechanical Design/Drafting (level 2) Location: Tarrytown, NY 10591 Duration: 7 – 8 month contract Job Description: Designs, develops, and implements new products or changes in existing products. Creates layouts of semi-complex systems, designs and details piece parts, assemblies mechanisms for Medical Diagnostic instruments using NX CAD application. Must be experienced using NX CAD application. Position requires ability to conceive, design, detail, and construct various mechanical components and assemblies using CAD program. Must be experienced integrating custom and commercial components into a finished product. Must be knowledgeable in ASME Y14.5-1994 standard and be experienced using Geometric Tolerancing. Must be familiar with a wide range of manufacturing processes including designing for machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, and injection molding. Participates in maintaining detailed and comprehensive records of all ideas, designs, and basic improvements. Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically require processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Ability to perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, etc. in order to support design decisions preferred.
