      Government Communications Laboratory is seeking a versatile, innovative, hands-on mechanical engineer for physical design of radio and opto-electronic subsystems for high reliability military applications. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical design and modeling skills, and drive products through all phases of product development, from concept, requirements, design, qualification, manufacture, and deployment while meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives. Position requires working with component vendors on performance and reliability issues, modeling and realizing hardware and module designs that are environmentally hardened. Must be able to obtain various US Security Clearances. LGS Innovations is an equal opportunity employer.

      Lead Mechanical Engineering experience with thermal and physical modeling, applying thermal management, finite element modeling, and reliability. Quick Response Programs and Rapid prototyping, CAD tools, using 3D prototype plotters, etc. (Advanced RF antenna knowledge, Electro-Magnetics knowledge and Simulation a plus). Experience in electronic, photonic and electronic component / packaging design (matched Tce designs, RF EMI/EMC, digital/analog separation), electronic subassembly layout including board physical design, and chassis and enclosure design are strongly preferred. B.S or advanced degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field is required. Position requires a proficient use of computer-aided drafting skills (with SolidWorks strongly preferred) and expert ability to perform and interpret thermal and structural analyses. Physical, Thermal Management analysis, simulation and design for harsh and challenging environments. Experience with military design standards is strongly preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Proficient use of Mircrosoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is strongly preferred. All candidates must be U.S. citizens capable of being granted a U.S. security clearance.
