      Our client is a leading manufacturer of components and materials used in the automotive industry. The company has been in business over 90 years and provides both OEM and aftermarket customers’ unmatched technical and design support and application testing.

      We seek a Plant Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering support for all facility processes, including, but not limited to, the design and operation of all production and auxiliary equipment as well as for the identification, design and implementation of new processes and capabilities resulting in significant improvements in production capabilities and efficiencies.

      The Plant Mechanical Engineer will, but not limited to:

      • Provide the leadership, direction and coordination for activities plant-wide regarding mechanical engineering and mechanical maintenance services for the Plant; including supervision of maintenance craft employees.
      • Identify and define critical mechanical issues during the planning, implementation, and production of new and or existing processes or capabilities
      • Participate with a capitol projects group to determine project priorities, scope and implementation; develop project plans and estimate resources and capital required.
      • Determine and recommend project priorities and schedules to meet the needs of production, maintenance, marketing, and R&D.
      • Develop, track, and document the progress of preventive maintenance program/work order system.
      • Develop project plans and estimates resources and capital required for implementation.
      • Provide functional direction, guidance and support to maintenance crews as necessary.
      • Develop and achieve “key mechanical maintenance performance metrics†in the Maintenance Department.
      • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and responsive service to all customers.
      • Be available by pager and/or cell phone to answer off-hour technical questions and be willing to come into the plant to help troubleshoot a late night or weekend problem when necessary.
      • Provide ISO documentation and audit support.
      • Provide and recommend training and skill enhancements necessary to develop advanced troubleshooting skills and systems.
      • Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance procedures and practices.

      Qualifications:

      • 10-15 years of manufacturing experience with a Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
      • Knowledge of the papermaking production processes; detailed knowledge in the design and operation of all production related equipment; background in some or all areas of converting, slitting, boiler operations and manufacturing.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
      • Takes responsibility for modeling and managing safety standards
      • US Resident or Green Card holder


      Salary is $75-85K
