Mechanical Engineer â€“ Optics/Photonics â€“ South UK 241456 Due to their current growth, my client, who designs, develops and manufactures complex electro-optical systems, modules and components, seeks a further Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer to join the engineering team. Working to develop and deliver new (and existing) products in a cost effective and timely manner, you will work alongside a wide range of engineering disciplines. You will be qualified to a minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar, and be able to show a successful background in a similar position within scientific engineering. You will have strong 2D and 3D CAD skills and be experienced with Solidworks software. Candidates must have experience in detailed design of machined parts and components, gained within an instrumentation, precision engineering or similar industry. Candidates with experience of Precision Optics will be at a distinct advantage. Ideally you will have experience of opt-mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies. The role will incorporate all aspects of design/development from concept proposal through to design, documentation and product testing. It is essential that you have strong communication skills and have experience working to micron tolerances on a range of precision products.
