Description The Department Assistant Manager will assist in the development and maintenance of critical path logic utilizing Microsoft Project across engineering, procurement, machine shop and assembly departments, in support of a team of Mechanical Engineers. Responsibilities Participation in the complete system integration of spacecraft hardware. Ownership throughout the entire lifecycle of the mechanical hardware designs, from concept to design & development to build to post-launch support. Design of high reliability and/or long-lifetime hardware. Assist in the evaluation of third party vendor components including generating specifications, reviewing designs. Assess project requirements and assign appropriate resources based on availability and expertise. Assist with the development of documentation including analysis summaries, technical engineering notes, subsystem and device requirements, and participating in overall spacecraft architecture design. Completes projects by training and guiding . Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. Minimum Qualifications 3- 5 years’ experience working as Assistant Manager or Team Lead. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Proven senior mechanical design experience. Knowledge of ANSYI 14.5 on Mechanical drawings. Experience training and mentoring junior and mid-level Mechanical Engineers. Team player, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD design software program. 3-5 year’s experience in spacecraft design.
