Knowledge, advice and entertainment; sounds like three good reasons to join a forum like this. I've actually been a member for a little while now, just strolled around, never made a post until now.
So about me.. I'm a Junior at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. For the past couple of years, I have been seeking work experience more suited to the kind of work I plan to do after graduation, which would I am very open to the kind of work I find enjoyable. Research and design is what I really enjoy, preferably in fields such as marine, aviation, automotive, etc... I seem to be able to land interviews pretty easily, but actually obtaining a position has been very difficult for me. Interviews always seem to go very well, I have huge, honest interests in every company I interview with. I've been told my résumé is outstanding, I feel great during interviews.. the only thing I believe that holds me back from landing a more suitable position is the time conflict with being in school still (I said I was a junior, which I actually am, but I will not be graduating until 2016. yes.. Im one of "those" students..). I've posted my résumé if any of you would like to look it over. I dont mean to post this as an advertisement to hire me, otherwise I would have made this post sound MUCH more professional, but I wouldn't mind if any of you could maybe give me a few pointers for a young engineer that is really seeking more than a job or career, but looking to find a position doing what he really LOVES to do!
I do also have a linkedin that I don't quite brag about yet, I'm not happy with what I have written on it yet, but here it is if you would like to look: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/sloan-bayle/56/615/163
Thank you all so much in advance.
