      hello everyone,
      can someone please tell me how to select size of block for die casting?i know its depend on size of mould cavity but i would like to know how much excess material shall i keep?is there any standered rule or formula for same?

      For both die casting and injection molding, the block size selection depends on many factors, but can generally be boiled down to a minimum of 2x the major part dimension (for most parts) in all axes. round up to a standard catalog sise.
      Your best bet.....call a local mold/casting house and discuss.
