      Good afternoon,

      I am currently looking for a Piping Designer for a project in the North West (UK) working in Chemical / Oil&Gas industries. The role will be primarily for Design Checking but may include some design work. Please note this is NOT a PDMS Design role. As such no PDMS experience is required.
      The contract will be for an initial 6 months but is more than likely to extend beyond the 12 month mark. This role is available on contract and the rates will be negotiable depending on experience.

      [HR][/HR]Piping Checkers / Piping Designer

      Due to the successful award of new projects our Client is currently seeking to recruit up to 5 Piping Checkers / Piping Designer to join our North West office on a Contract basis for 6-12 months plus New Projects. The role will be based on 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime available. Minimum 6-12 months duration based in our Stockport office. This is NOT a PDMS Designer role.

      Projects currently secured for South Africa & Peru in the Chemical and Oil & Gas Industry.

      • The successful candidate will join a piping team on major domestic and international projects and must have experience of multi-discipline projects.
      • Responsible for performing checking activities as part of the piping design team, responsibilities will include checking Isometrics, General Arrangement drawings, and pipe support details produced from PDMS modelling and 2D drafting systems.
      • Produce the required discipline deliverables to the agreed schedule.
      • Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
      • Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member.
      • Quality Assurance – work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
      • Safety – Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
      • A substantial experience applicable to piping layout and design is required.
      • PDMS experience not essential – candidates must have a solid piping background.
      • Candidates ideally need experience on Detailed Piping Design Projects.
      Requirements
      • Degree or HNC/OND/BTEC (or equiv.) + substantial project design experience
      • Excellent technical communication and co-ordination skills.
      • Diploma of engineering or equivalent
      • Substantial proven experience of detailed piping design gained with design contractors
      • A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good piping design for chemical / oil and gas facilities.
