A privately held company with a concentration on design, engineering and manufacturing of water purification and sanitation equipment is seeking a mechanical engineer to support the design and manufacture a comprehensive suite of water purification products for use in the commercial and residential sectors. Desired skills and experiences: Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience Water quality treatment or environmental knowledge Entrepreneurial in spirit Team orientated Self-motivated Independent and able to work remotely Ozone experience helpful Design experience using AutoCAD Responsibilities: The Plant / Engineering Manager oversees the manufacturing and final design of manufactured products. Provide training, education and technical support to manufacturing and sales. Generate and maintain plant budget. Work with partners to outsource manufacturing when demand exceeds capacity. Generate specified projects, conversions and approvals to facilitate increases in demand. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Weekly calls with sales to generate new projects, conversions and gain approvals as necessary. Weekly calls with operations team to review production schedule compliance and quality issue resolution. Work with production staff to identify production constraints and delivery risks. Maintain production and delivered quality reports. Consistently evaluate ways to engineer cost out of production process and product. Provide accurate project information to track production and product costs. Must maintain a complete understanding and application knowledge of all assigned product lines. Water Quality Products Products Service Responsible for supporting on site product installation when conditions warrant. Internal and External Relationships. Act as the technical resource. This would include project generation and updates, product knowledge and application, training, project conversions and approval objectives. Work with all available support using a "Team approach" to accomplish your objectives. Work in concert with the sales and sales management team to protect and secure products. Facilitate pricing inquires to assure that products you manufacture are competitive. Product pricing procedures will be developed and introduced by your sales team and the CEO. Act with a sense of urgency. Develop and maintain relationships with key engineers and sales personnel. Business Planning and Communication: Develop a yearly Action Plan for each product that supports the strategic plan. Review and modify these action items as necessary to achieve the objective in a timely matter. These plans should be developed with input from the sales managers and executive management. It is imperative that you communicate on a regular basis with the sales and management team. This way they can share their priorities, thus assuring you work in concert on timely issues.
