I need an idea of price/kg of the following sheet material:

      • Mild steel ST37
      • Aluminium 6062-T6 (or nearest equivalent)

Does anyone have this info or can point me in the right direction?

      Try OnlineMetals.com or
      AircraftSpruce.com
      or Couer d'Alene metals (call)
I use all three and generally the prices are close. Depends on the thickness.
      You can try eBay, too.

Gareth, I think you might struggle to find 6062 in the UK. Do you need the controlled Cr content? What sheet size / thickness and temper do you need? Steve

      Hi, Gareth.

Usually, the price is on basis of five conditions as below:
      1. Alloy
      2. Temper/(Some people call it "grade")
      3. Thickness
      4. Width&Length
      5. Application
Any change in each condition will cause price difference, some big, some small.
The reason is the change will lead the manufacturers works in different ways, not for entire procedure, just for some detailed works.

While, for the weight, the 5 conditions mentioned actually will not works so effective as how they do for the price, but they do influence the weight.

We guess the information you need will jump to you after you give names to each conditons of the five.

AL6062-T6 is not good for bending, it's easy to be broken.
