      Brett Martin Daylight Systems are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated and experienced Product Design Engineer to join their team in designing, developing and engineering new and existing products. The successful candidate will have experience of working as a Product Design Engineer within a manufacturing or similar environment.

      Brett Martin Daylight Systems design, develop and engineer bespoke natural roof lighting products for commercial and industrial building projects. They are the UK and Ireland’s leading rooflights manufacturer, and with ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years, this is a great opportunity for a Product Design Engineer to join their team.

      • Management of own design engineering projects, from identification of market need through to concept and design
      • CAD Design of component and assembly drawings for development projects, production of product specifications, production instructions, installation instructions and product literature
      • Source new materials and components required for new products/ product improvements
      • Bespoke adaptation of existing products to suit specific customer or project requirements
      • Prototyping and model-making
      • Product testing
      • Technical support to internal and external teams
      • When required, visit customer sites to investigate and resolve customer complaints

      • Degree or equivalent in Product / Mechanical / Industrial Design Engineering or similar
      • Experience as a product design engineer or similar, ideally in a manufacturing environment
      • Experience of designing products comprised of extrusions, injection mouldings, vacuum formings, metal fabrications, glass, polycarbonate, GRP, and sourced mechanical components
      • Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills - Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor are preferred - necessary training will be provided for the right candidate
      • Knowledge of a broad range of materials and manufacturing methods
      • Construction site experience
