      Our client is a global manufacturer of products for the RV, automotive, truck, hotel, and marine markets, supplying OEMs and the aftermarket with a range of air conditioners, refrigerators, awnings, cookers, sanitation systems, lighting, mobile power equipment, safety solutions, windows, doors and other leisure market equipment.

      They are currently looking for an a Product Development Engineer to join their Marine division in South Florida, supporting development of specialized HVAC equipment. Proven expertise in designing electro-mechanical devices is necessary to design, redesign, and document the mechanical systems of the equipment produced. This position will also work on existing products providing manufacturing support and identifying and executing improvement ideas to meet or exceed functionality and cost goals.

      MUST understand the elements of fluid dynamics and HVAC systems to perform typical engineering duties associated with the development of commercial HVAC products, including design, testing & troubleshooting, vendor selection, documentation, manufacturing support and customer support. Key markers for success in this hands-on role will include being able to independently work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively maintaining a cost/feature balance differentiation, and always looking at new and developing technology concepts to apply toward existing and future feature sets.

      · Identify and execute process improvement/enhancement ideas in products to improve quality, safety, and cost
      · Provide technical assistance to customer service and sales, and on-site field support / troubleshooting to customers on systematic design issues.
      · Document and manage information related to HVAC systems including BOMs, part drawings, and work instructions in order to support manufacturing.
      · Work in conjunction with procurement to author and manage component specifications for all mechanical components, identify, evaluate and qualify outside vendors and procure cost effective components.
      · Set up test fixtures, conduct testing on variety of HVAC equipment, interpret test results and improve equipment designs based on test data, working as a team on large projects or independently on smaller ones.
      · In a research capacity, perform engineering work on new, unproven technologies with minimal guidance.
      · Develop solid design specifications working with Marketing and other platform members.
      · Provide timely training and troubleshooting assistance on HVAC products to customer service and manufacturing.
      · BSEE, BSCE, BSME or equivalent
      · 4+ years experience in HVAC industry with demonstrated expertise in designing and documenting HVAC systems and components.
      · Proficiency is SolidWorks or some type of 3D modeling tools to work with CAD designers to develop, evaluate and check 3D models, detailed component drawings, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials and unit wiring.
      · Brazing/welding , fabrication background in a manufacturing environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
      · Strong written communication and documentation skills; Competent in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
