Our client need an experienced Engineer to take a leading role in the design and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in the field of drug delivery products and devices, particularly in the areas of inhaled and injectable drug delivery devices.

      Specific responsibilities

Initially, this position involves taking roles within development projects with exposure to all aspects of development from contract negotiation to final delivery. You will be involved in concept generation, analysis of system architectures and mechanical design and liaison across other engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for the generation of concepts and layouts of systems in CAD, tolerance analysis of product designs and preparation of technical reports.

You will have contact with clients at an early stage, getting involved in defining work programmes, holding technical workshops and giving presentations. You will manage tasks within projects requiring delivery within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources. This is likely to develop into management of projects, having full responsibility for delivery to our clients.

You will use your strong technical expertise and knowledge of the drug delivery field to develop relationships with current and future clients by understanding their needs, writing proposals to define the work programmes, holding technical workshops and presenting data.

Experience in development of inhalation or injection devices and systems being an advantage
An excellent knowledge of manufacture and assembly processes from one off designs to high volume manufacture
A good understanding of manufacturing techniques, assembly processes and material selection
Significant experience in 3D CAD, preferably Pro Engineer and Solid Works
A self-motivated team player who is highly enthusiastic about working in the the drug delivery area
A good understanding of medical device development processes compliant with ISO 13485 and QSR would also be an advantage
Hands-on experience in leading mechanism design, stress analysis, mould flow analysis and other CAD analysis tools is also desirable
