      Career Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Confidential) in Cincinnati, OH

      This position will be involved in the development and design of an array of mechanical systems by creating 2D and 3D mechanical CAD designs consisting of custom designed sheet metal and plastic parts as well as various other manufactured and commercial mechanical and electrical components. This position will focus on development of products and equipment in the food service industry. Works closely with engineers, group support staff, and suppliers, while taking the lead in helping to transform ideas and concepts into working prototypes, SolidWorks models and detail part drawings for the production of parts and assemblies that meet requirements for quality, functionality & cost.

      Additionally, you will be responsible for:
      · Developing new products, parts and assemblies that are ready for manufacturing
      · Reviewing engineering development of parts and assemblies to ensure quality meets specifications
      · Identifying and recommending methods to reduce total product cost, increase product reliability, and reduce product lead times while maintaining or improving product performance.
      · Updating existing models and drawings per Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
      · Creating system specifications from conceptual ideas and from interviewing appropriate internal and external stakeholders or gather technical information from pre-defined specifications and develop the specifications into 3D models with assembly detail, equipment list, and dimensions.
      · Leading and/or participating in design reviews to ensure sound mechanical design of products.
      · Creating CAD models and drawings for prototype and production components
      · Collaborating with purchasing department to identify & source suppliers qualified to manufacture components necessary for projects
      · Working with purchasing to review supplier cost and capability
      · Reviewing and approving supplier drawings for manufacturing
      · Reviewing models and designs for cost, strength, and manufacturability
      · Using SolidWorks Simulation software for FEA review of part & assembly strength
      · Visiting manufacturing sites or other supplier facilities for project review

      Candidate should enjoy being a self-motivated team player who does what it takes to get the job done, and have:
      · Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering
      · Technology (MET), or Associates in ME or MET with appropriate, supportive experience.
      · Must have working knowledge of NSF Certification requirements that govern food equipment, commercial cooking, rethermalization and powered hot food holding, transport equipment, commercial refrigerators and freezers and food equipment materials.
      · Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design and implementation or manufacturing experience where progressive responsibility was attained and executional success accomplished.
      · Experience designing plastic parts for injection molding, vacuum forming, extrusion, etc., including the ability to assist in the selection of appropriate materials.
      · Experience designing metal parts for sheet metal stamping and forming, machining, welding, etc.
      · Experience in managing staff, leading a team, and coordinating vendors.
      · Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD modeling.
      · Experience with prototype process.
      · Knowledge of various product certifications including: NSF, UL, CSA & CE
      · Good oral and written communication skills, including ability to lead design reviews and assist in preparation of product and process documentation.
      · Familiarity with electrical and electronic systems and ability to work closely with electrical engineers.
      · Ability to travel for 10% or less
