      Position Summary
      Responsible for design aspects for creating, revising and documenting mechanical design.

      All design aspects for creating, revising and documenting mechanical design of communication headsets and related products. Must invent & implement creative solutions to difficult engineering problems. Must be able to evaluate complex geometries; create surfaces; and build piece parts and assemblies using Pro/E CAD for development of new telephony products. Responsible for the CAD layout of the project through design evolution into production-ready design. Must participate in prototyping; tooling; and product proof and validation efforts.

      Minimum Qualifications
      • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
      • Highly experienced (5-10 yrs.) in electro-mechanical design of high volume, low cost, consumer products.
      • Extensive experience with Pro/ENGINEER 3D mechanical design tools with a particular emphasis on Pro/E surfacing and Data Sharing techniques.
      • Experience with plastic injection molding designs.
      • Experience in making tradeoffs of implementation in mechanical vs. electrical solutions for realizing low cost systems with minimal development risk.
      • Experience with international safety standards and EMI standards (CE, UL, etc.) and proficiency at developing mechanical designs which meet those requirements.
      • Able to work in a team environment and be a team-oriented individual, as well as an individual contributor. A "hands-on" approach is required.
      • Skill to get cost sensitive, high volume product from definition into production on very aggressive schedules
      Desired Qualifications
      • Familiarity with database management system (e.g. Windchill/PDMLink, Pro/Intralink)
