      Position Description:​
      Responsible for solid model design work supporting engineering staff on projects under thedirection of a Staff Engineer or Project Manager. Tasking may include: preparing engineeringdrawings, layout and detailed design of mechanical systems using solid modeling techniques,managing complex models using multiple designers, and interfacing with designers / draftsmanfor the production of fabrication drawings. With minimal instructions prepares sketches, orcomplete layout and detailed drawings, for complex equipment or mechanisms. Performsindependent, original designs. Can check technical accuracy and completeness of all drafting.​
      Minimum Position Requirements:Education: ​
      Associate Degree in related engineering field, or equivalent work experience;undergraduate degree preferred. Formal Training in use of SolidWorks, solidmodeling software and SolidWorks Advanced Assemblies certificate preferred.
      Experience: ​
      Ten years experience working with Mil Standards and geometric tolerance ANSI14.5. Experience in all phases of documentation, machine shop, manufacturingand structural design. Proficiency using software such as AutoCAD andSolidWorks required. Computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.Technical writing skills are helpful.
      Knowledge: ​
      Possesses ability to work independently developing original designs ormodifications. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of CAD equipment.Familiar with military specifications. Good verbal and interpersonal skills
      necessary to effectively communicate with vendors and Customers
