Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Based Cambridge Area Salary Negotiable (Including Benefits) Role and Responsibilities: Working on a range of development projects in the healthcare/medical device industry. The role will combine project management duties, entailing all responsibilities consistent with successfully delivering projects to meet client needs, with hands on technical work as a senior mechanical engineer or technical lead, responsible for the delivery of innovative and robust designs of medical devices. Essential skills and experience: Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering. Experience in the field of healthcare/medical products or similar devices/products/instrumentation with a complexity of moving parts/assemblies. Proven track record of successfully delivering development projects in project management and technical lead roles, heading and as part of multi-disciplinary teams. Proven track record in the robust design and development of innovative products and devices. Detailed design of components, mechanisms and assemblies for high volume manufacture. Additional desirable skills could include: 3D and 2D CAD (Solidworks or Pro E).Technical consultancy experience. Risk management. Medical device regulations. Business development. Mentoring and people development. Personal Characteristics: Structured and methodical problem solving with good analytical skills. Flexibility and a team player. Ideally project management experience. Ability to liaise with colleagues, clients and sub-contractors at technical and non-technical levels.
